Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring critical care experience and a compact or ND RN license.

Details

4-bed ICU within an acute care critical access hospital
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2-3 depending on acuity
Common diagnoses include DKA, sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac rate/rhythm control, medical detox, arterial lines, and CVP monitoring
RNs are required to titrate drips typical of an ICU setting
ER staff serve as charge nurse for the unit; no dedicated ICU charge nurse
No nurse aides or patient care techs assigned to this unit
Respiratory equipment ranges from nasal cannula to ventilators; RNs troubleshoot as needed
RNs are required to read and interpret their own telemetry strips
12-hour night shifts on a 7pm-7am schedule
Weekend and holiday coverage required as needed
Floating to Med-Surg or ER (for 1:1 assignments) required
Uses MEDITECH EMR
3 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided

Requirements

Active RN license (ND state or Compact) required, pending licenses not accepted

Up to 7 days of RTO may be requested upfront per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved after submission
Facility may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
