• Ensure patient safety with side rails, restraints, and equipment safety per policy.
• Complete and verify physician orders promptly, including 24-hour checks.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU/PCU Nights position requiring 3+ years of experience and an active WA or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active WA State or Multi-State compact RN license required
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience across all ICU/PCU care areas required
• Willingness to float to Med-Surg as needed

Responsibilities

• 25-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH) setting
• Combined ICU/PCU unit caring for intensive care and progressive care patients
• Night shift schedule
• Float to Med-Surg Unit (MSU) as needed
• Uses equipment in PCU/Telemetry/Med-Surg areas
• Provide patient and family education using appropriate teaching methods
• Implement patient safety measures including side rails, restraints, and safe equipment use per policy
• Follow infection control and isolation procedures using standard precautions
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient status, interventions, and responses
• Complete and verify physician orders in a timely manner, including 24-hour order checks when applicable
• Give complete and accurate shift-to-shift reports and interdepartmental communication
• Report critical lab values to physicians according to policy
• Maintain and restock emergency carts, rooms, and general supplies
