Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with TN or compact licensure for floating to PCU and MS units in a hospital setting. You will manage ventilators, arterial/central lines, blood products, and critical monitoring in a fast-paced ICU environment.

The role requires AHA BLS/ACLS and NIHSS certifications, ICU experience, and the ability to travel. Relocation housing options and comprehensive benefits are provided. First travel assignment welcome.

Qualifications

Active TN license or compact license required
Minimum 1 year ICU experience required
AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
PALS certification preferred
Skilled in IV therapy and line management
Ventilator management and ABG interpretation experience
12-lead ECG and cardiac monitoring required

Responsibilities

Float to PCU (1:5) and MS (1:7) in ICU setting
Day shift 3x12 hours, 6:30–19:00
Schedule options include 36/36, 36/48, or 48/48 with 4 weekend shifts
No on-call requirements
Epic charting system preferred
Must reside at least 100 miles from facility
First-time travelers welcome
Orientation starts Sundays with online CBLs
Relias EKG testing within 72 hours of signing
Drug test completed 12–14 days before start
Facial hair trimmed for CDC fit testing
RN team to support students and education

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN requiring TN or compact licensure, ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certification, and floating capability to PCU and MS units.

Requirements

Active TN or compact RN license required
Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA certification is the only accepted form)
PALS certification preferred
Skilled in IV therapy, central/PICC line management, arterial line management, and blood product administration
Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and BiPAP/CPAP management required
Experience with cardiac drip titration, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG required
Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and cardiac monitoring/emergency response required
Experience with continuous IV sedation and emergency medication administration required
Isolation precautions/PPE knowledge required

Responsibilities

ICU setting requiring floating to PCU (1:5 ratio) and MS (1:7 ratio)
Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 6:30 to 19:00
Schedule options include 36/36, 36/48, or 48/48 with 4 weekend shifts per schedule period
No on-call requirements
Epic charting system preferred
Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility (locals not accepted)
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
General orientation begins on Sundays with online CBLs; Sunday start dates available upon completion of compliance documents by deadline
Relias EKG testing required within 72 hours of signing, with a maximum of two attempts allowed
Drug test must be completed 12-14 calendar days prior to start with no scheduling conflicts during that window
Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines
Contract RN team members are expected to participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside direct patient care
