American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a Level II Trauma mixed ICU on night shift, 7P–7A, with 1 year of ICU experience required. The unit handles medical, surgical, cardiac and neurosurgery patients in a 38-bed setting and uses advanced equipment.

RNs must hold an active CO or Compact license, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS, and be comfortable with bedside procedures and frequent drip titrations. 13-week assignment with competitive weekly pay.

Responsibilities

Provide care in a Level II Trauma ICU on night shift (7P–7A).

Maintain patient safety with nurse staffing ratios typically 2:1 to 1:1 depending on acuity.

Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a Level II Trauma mixed ICU on night shift (7P-7A), requiring at least 1 year of recent ICU experience.

Details

Level II Trauma Center general mixed ICU with 38 beds, treating medical, surgical, cardiac and neurosurgery patients, including post-operative open-heart cases
Unit utilizes VV/VA ECMO, balloon pump, Impella, and CRRT
Staffing includes 16-18 staff per shift with 1 charge nurse on both day and night shifts
Patient ratios range from 2:1 to 1:1 depending on acuity
Equipment includes Stryker beds, Avea ventilators, GE monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Maquet IABP, Vigilance II monitors, Impella, Maquet Cardiohelp and Medtronic Vital Flow ECMO, and NICOM
Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
13-week assignment

Requirements

Active RN license, CO or Compact
Minimum 1 year of current ICU hospital experience
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
Preferred: CVICU/CTICU experience with post-operative open-heart patients
Must perform bedside procedures such as bronchoscopies, GI scopes, chest tube insertions, and arterial and central line insertions
Comfortable with airway care and frequent drip titrations
No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
