Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Surgical ICU travel assignment in which you will provide critical care to adults and geriatric patients in an 18-bed unit.

The role requires a compact or AL RN license and at least one year of ICU experience, with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio and day shifts (7:00-19:00) on a 3x12 schedule, every other weekend. Housing is available in shared units, and the facility offers economy flight reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (AL or Compact) required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification via AHA required.
• NIHSS certification preferred.
• Minimum one year of recent ICU experience required.
• Level II Trauma experience preferred.
• Experience with IV insulin protocols, arterial lines, central and PICC line care, and blood product administration.
• Experience caring for ventilated patients and infection control/PPE protocols.
• Travel experience preferred, though not required.

Responsibilities

• 18-bed Surgical ICU setting.
• Adult and geriatric patient population.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00-19:00), every other weekend.
• 30-minute lunch break required with no skipped meals.
• Provide critical care nursing services within a Surgical ICU setting.
• Hospital housing available in shared units with private bedrooms (male or female only, no pets).
• Facility offers flight reimbursement for economy travel with required documentation.
• Requested time off limited to a maximum of 7 days.
• Local candidates considered within a 60-mile radius at a lower pay rate.
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for travel assignments.
• Candidates with a pending license may still be submitted for consideration.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Surgical ICU position requiring a compact or AL RN license and at least one year of recent ICU experience.

Requirements

• Active RN license (AL or Compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification via AHA required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum one year of recent ICU experience required
• Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Skilled in IV insulin protocols, port access, arterial line management, blood product administration, central and PICC line care, and IV starts
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, CVA/acute stroke management, and hypothermia protocol (Arctic Sun)
• Experience caring for ventilated patients and following infection prevention and isolation precautions/PPE protocols
• Travel experience preferred, though not required
