American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy assignment in Massachusetts.

MA RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, and Epic charting proficiency are required, with travel nursing experience strongly preferred. The role involves high-acuity in-room monitoring in an Endoscopy unit, with a 4x10 schedule and shift starts around 6:30–8:00 AM; union rules govern scheduling and weekend/holiday rotations.

Responsibilities

• Performs procedures including colonoscopy, EGD, EBUS, EUS, ERCP, and esophageal varices banding.
• Administers and monitors conscious sedation and recovers patients from conscious and monitored anesthesia care sedation.
• Epic EMR experience required.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position requiring MA RN licensure, prior travel experience, and Epic charting proficiency.

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, 2-3+ years preferred
• Prior experience with in-room patient monitoring/coverage required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Skilled in administering conscious sedation, interpreting/managing dysrhythmias, and monitoring conscious sedation
• Experience with specimen handling/labeling and Provation preferred
• Skilled in airway management, starting and maintaining IVs, obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG, and administering medications including opioid analgesics, reversal agents, and Versed
• Two references required for consideration, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Responsibilities

• Work in the Endoscopy unit of a hospital setting
• High acuity patient population requiring in-room patient monitoring and coverage

• Performs procedures including colonoscopy, EGD, EBUS, EUS, ERCP, and esophageal varices banding
• Administers and monitors conscious sedation and recovers patients from conscious and monitored anesthesia care sedation
• Uses equipment such as disposable grounding pads and ERBE portable electrical coagulation instruments
• Epic EMR experience required
• 4x10 day shift schedule with 6:30 AM or 8 AM start times depending on unit need
• Every other weekend/holiday rotation required
• Must be able to work all 7 days with no special scheduling accommodations due to union facility rules
• Circulate and provide pre/post-procedure and pre-procedure care in an inpatient and portable/bedside travel case setting
• Must complete a Pass/Fail Tele test during orientation with an 80% passing score and only one attempt allowed; failure to pass results in cancellation from the assignment
• Must also complete a Pass/Fail Medication exam during orientation
• Pre-start and orientation modules required, with additional annual modules
• Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week
• Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at the same bill rate
• RNs must reside within a 200-mile radius to be eligible
• Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
• Candidates with prior disciplinary actions on their nursing license cannot be considered
