Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a GI Lab RN in Illinois to support GI/Endoscopy services on an 8-week contract. Requires active IL RN license, BLS/ACLS, and at least 2 years of GI Lab recovery experience (PACU/Tele/procedural).

Epic EMR experience is a must; travel or PRN experience preferred. Day shifts with 7:30–9:00 starts, 36–40 hours weekly, no weekends, no on-call. Possible floating to Highland Park, Skokie, and Evanston labs.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA preferred; Red Cross accepted for BLS).
• Minimum 2 years GI Lab/recovery experience (PACU/Tele/procedural).
• Epic EMR experience required; noted in employment history.
• Travel or PRN experience preferred; local candidates welcome.
• New graduates will not be considered.
• Pass an on-site EKG test with 80%+; additional Day 1 orientation EKG test.

Responsibilities

• Work in the GI Lab setting.
• Admit and recover patients in Phase II; potential procedure room involvement.
• Start IVs as part of patient care duties.
• Day shift schedule with start times between 7:30–9:00.
• 36–40 hours per week; no weekends or holidays; no on-call.

• Provide hospital orientation and complete Epic competency steps.

American Traveler is hiring a GI Lab RN with at least 2 years of recovery experience including PACU, Tele, or procedural care to support an IL hospital's GI/Endoscopy services.

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (American Heart Association preferred; American Red Cross accepted for BLS)
• Minimum 2 years of GI Lab experience required
• Documented recovery experience including PACU, Tele, or procedural care required
• Travel or PRN experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required and must be noted in employment history
• New graduates will not be considered

Responsibilities

• Work in the GI Lab setting
• Responsible for admitting patients and recovering patients in Phase II, with potential procedure room involvement
• Starts IVs as part of patient care duties
• Day shift schedule with varying start times between 0730-0900
• Scheduled for 36-40 hours per week
• No weekend or holiday requirements
• No on-call requirements
• Possible floating to Highland Park, Skokie, and Evanston GI labs
• Candidates must pass an EKG test with a score of 80% or higher prior to consideration
• An additional on-site EKG test (pass/fail) is required on Day 1 of orientation, with a study guide provided in advance
• Day 1 orientation includes EKG testing, training modules, and Epic competency testing, totaling approximately 6-8 hours
• Two current professional references required from a Supervisor, Manager, or Charge nurse in the relevant specialty area, dated within the last year
• At least one travel reference is preferred
• Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate
• Returning permanent or per diem staff must have been separated from employment for at least 12 months to be eligible as a traveler
• Maximum RTO for this 8-week contract is 3 days
• A brief interview (10-15 minutes) with the hospital is required as part of the hiring process
