Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a registered nurse for an Endoscopy role in Charleston, SC. Requires intraprocedure endoscopy experience and an active SC or compact RN license. BLS is mandatory; ACLS is needed for Pain Management Clinic positions.

The ideal candidate will have BSN (preferred) and strong critical thinking skills, with a willingness to travel and float to nearby hospitals as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the Endoscopy department per SC Nurse Practice Act
• Schedule: Mon-Fri 0900–1730
• On-call rotation of 11 shifts per 6 weeks including one weekend
• Use Cerner for charting
• Travelers may float to nearby sister hospital
• Assist with patient assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Endoscopy position requiring intraprocedure endoscopy experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active RN license (SC or NCSBN compact) required, and candidate must not be a permanent resident of SC
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• ACLS certification required for positions in the Pain Management Clinic
• Graduate of an accredited school or college of nursing, BSN highly desired
• Endoscopy intraprocedure experience required
• Scope disinfection and tech experience preferred
• Ability to analyze situations, apply critical thinking, and react calmly in emergencies

Responsibilities

• Work in the Endoscopy department of a hospital setting
• Schedule is Monday-Friday 0900-1730
• On-call rotation of 11 call shifts including 1 weekend, per 6-week period
• Uses Cerner for charting
• Travelers may float to a nearby sister hospital
• Provide nursing care for patients in accordance with established standards and the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act
• Apply professional nursing theory and practice to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, stooping, and lifting/moving patients required
• Exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, and infectious materials is possible
• May be required to work weekends or holidays based on departmental needs
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from the initial start date, after which a 30-60 day break is required before returning to a new assignment
