Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced GI/Endoscopy RN for an acute care Level 2 trauma facility requiring scope reprocessing experience and a rotating day/night schedule.

Active ND or Compact RN license and BLS are required, with a minimum of 2 years RN experience and 1 year of procedural endoscopy experience preferred. EPIC EMR is used for charting and documentation, and nurses may scrub, circulate, and reprocess scopes.

Qualifications

• BLS certification (AHA) required.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
• Minimum 1 year of procedural experience required, advanced endoscopy procedures preferred.
• Scope reprocessing experience required.
• BSN not required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Acute care setting within a Level 2 trauma center's GI/Endoscopy unit.
• Rotating 4x10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with day/night rotation.
• EPIC EMR used for charting and documentation.
• RN scrub person, RN circulator, and scope reprocessor responsibilities.
• Scope reprocessing duties include cleaning scopes using an AER, borescope, ATP testing, and leak testing.
• Patient transport responsibilities included.
• Weekday call required once every 1-2 weeks and weekend call every 2 months.
• May float into the pre/post area at the endo expansion unit.
• Uses Provation and Olympus equipment/programs.
• Assists with bedside procedures, specimen retrieval, and bedside cleaning as RN scrub person.
• Coordinates care and completes documentation as RN circulator.
• May work one holiday per year depending on staffing needs.
• Hospital-provided scrubs required.
• All clinicians must badge in/out.
• No local candidates with permanent address within 80 miles.
• Previous health system employees must have end date at least 6 months prior.
