Qualifications

• Eighteen months of recent experience in Acute Care Perioperative Nursing as both scrub and circulating nurse
• Active RN License
• Degree from an accredited nursing program
• RNFA program that meets AORN standards
• BLS, ACLS, CNOR certifications

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon by performing technical functions during surgery: retraction, homeostasis, tissue manipulation, wound closure
• Provide direct patient care as first assistant during operative procedures
• RNFA performs first assisting under direct supervision of the surgeon
• Communicate patient care issues verbally to the surgeon
