Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatric Emergency Department RN for a night shift assignment in the Washington, DC area. DC RN license required, recent pediatric ED experience, and required certifications ensure readiness for high-acuity pediatric care.

The position offers 3x12-hour night shifts, a 9-week assignment, travel housing allowances, licensure reimbursements, and comprehensive benefits to support a travel nurse’s needs.

Qualifications

• Active DC RN license required.
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
• Two years full-time or three years part-time acute care experience required.
• Recent pediatric emergency department experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Pediatric Emergency Department providing specialized care to infants, children, and young adults in urgent medical need
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts per week
• 9-week assignment length
• Provide knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination in accordance with hospital policies and standards
• Deliver professional leadership and support to the healthcare team
• Utilize Patient Centered Care concepts and demonstrate Service Excellence standards at all times
• Must remain calm and focused during high-pressure situations
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted

Requirements

• Active DC RN license required, no pending licenses accepted
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
• Current certifications required: TNCC, NIHSS, BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA certifications only)
• Two years full-time or three years part-time acute care experience required
• Recent pediatric emergency department experience required
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills required
• Must be able to sustain employment for a minimum of two years
