American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ED Holding unit in New York with NY licensure and MS/Tele skills. Night shift 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, 4x12h, with EPIC charting responsibilities and high-acuity patient care.

Responsibilities

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ED Holding unit requiring NY licensure and MS/Tele skills on night shift.

Requirements

• Active New York State RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent MS/Tele experience required
• EPIC charting experience preferred but not required
• Comfortable performing cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation, use of rapid response and code teams
• Experience with renal failure patient care
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and peripheral line care
• Experience with heparin protocol medication management
• Experience caring for patients with seizure disorders
• Skilled in respiratory care including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Knowledge of isolation precautions, PPE use, wound care, and wound vac management

Responsibilities

• Work in the ED Holding department caring for MS/Tele patients physically located within the Emergency Department
• High-acuity patient population requiring adaptability and strong assessment skills
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM-7:30 AM, 4x12 hours
• Documentation performed in EPIC
• Care for MS/Tele patients within a fast-paced Emergency Department Holding environment
• Department review required before a full offer can be extended
• COVID vaccination required with no exceptions
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• RTO must be 5 days or less, with no time off requested within the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• Previous staff must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
