Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced ER RN for a short‑term acute care hospital assignment in South Carolina. Qualified candidates will have an SC or Compact RN license and at least 2 years of ER and charge nurse experience, plus ACLS/BLS/NIHSS/PALS certifications. TNCC/CPI preferred. SSN required for consideration.

Position features day shift (4x12s, 7a–7p) with potential 3x12s, patient ratios 1:4 to 1:5, and every other weekend. Travel nurses welcome to apply.

• Every other weekend required and no on‑call responsibilities.
• Floating within scope to meet facility needs; uses Epic EMR.

Requirements

• Active SC or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS (AHA certifications only)
• TNCC and CPI certifications preferred
• SSN required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department setting in a 97-bed short term acute care hospital
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours (7a-7p), with possible consideration for 3x12s
• Patient ratios of 1:4, flexing to 1:5 depending on acuity
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including between like units or sister facilities
• Uses Epic EMR
• Provide triage and emergency nursing care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
• Must complete all assigned training modules prior to start date, with access typically provided the Wednesday before start
• Attendance at staff meetings is required
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Must reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility, though candidates outside this radius are prioritized
• Local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Previous permanent or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates should be aware that during hurricane season (June through November, peak August-September), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
• Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
