Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week assignment at a small critical access hospital in Hawaii. The role requires an active HI RN license and a minimum of 2 years in the ED, with duties spanning ER, Acute, and LTC areas. Shifts are six 12-hour blocks (72 hours) in a two-week period, with every 3rd weekend off.

Responsibilities

• Cover ER, Acute, and LTC areas in a small critical access hospital.
• Provide backup support in Acute and LTC when ER is not busy.
• Pass meds and perform procedures for LTC and Acute patients.
• Six 12-hour shifts (72 hours) every two weeks.
• Every 3rd weekend off.
• Not a latex-free facility.

• Travel logistics and orientation at Ka'u Hospital; arrival in Hilo before start.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week assignment at a small critical access hospital requiring an active HI RN license and at least 2 years of ED experience.

Requirements

• Active HI RN license required by start of assignment; candidates without one may apply upon offer acceptance
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department required

Responsibilities

• Small critical access hospital with no separate units, requiring RNs to cover ER, Acute, and LTC areas
• If assigned to ER with no patients, RN will provide backup support in Acute and LTC areas
• If assigned to meds, RN will pass meds and perform procedures for LTC and Acute patients
• Schedule consists of six 12-hour shifts totaling 72 hours in a two-week period
• Every 3rd weekend off
• Not a latex-free facility
• RN responsibilities span ER, Acute, and LTC patient care depending on assignment
• Recommended arrival in Hilo the Thursday before start, staying overnight to attend HR/Employee Health clearance appointment the next morning
• After clearance, travel to Ka'u Hospital that same day to complete initial paperwork and orientation
• Hours are not guaranteed
