Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with a PA or compact license for a night shift travel assignment in Pennsylvania. ACLS, PALS, BLS and NIHSS certifications are required, with strong cardiac monitoring abilities.

Responsibilities include a 1:4 patient load in a community hospital, night shifts 19:00-07:30, and every other weekend/holiday coverage. Housing and travel reimbursements are provided to travelers.

Qualifications

• Active PA RN license or compact license in hand.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Minimum 1 year ER nursing experience.
• Community hospital experience and/or charge nurse experience preferred.
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring and emergency response; able to manage dysrhythmias.
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central lines and vasopressors.
• BiPAP/CPAP management; ventilated patient care.
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE; triage skills.
• One supervisory reference within the past year.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department of a community hospital.
• 1:4 patient ratio.
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30).
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required.
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• PA fingerprinting and ChildLine clearance: within 48 hours of contract signing (PA).
• Lab work completed within 72 hours of contract signing.
• Break of 18 months required before returning as a traveler for Penn Highlands Healthcare.

Requirements

• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of ER nursing experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Experience managing dysrhythmias
• Proficient in IV therapy and phlebotomy
• Central line care and management experience
• Experience administering IV vasopressors and medications
• BiPAP/CPAP management skills
• Experience caring for ventilated patients
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Triage skills required
• One supervisory reference within the past year required for consideration
