Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift. You will work in a Level II Trauma Center on a combined adult/pediatric population, with a 1:4 patient ratio and 3x12-hour night shifts.

Requirements include WA RN license (or license application), BLS/ACLS/NIHSS/PALS/TNCC, and Epic EMR proficiency. Prior travel nursing and at least 2 years ER experience are required.

Qualifications

• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC.
• Minimum 2 years ER nursing experience required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• EMR experience: Epic.

Responsibilities

• Treat a mixed adult/pediatric ED population in a Level II Trauma Center.
• Handle cases including trauma, cardiac events, strokes and behavioral health crises.
• Maintain patient load at 1:4 ratio.
• Night shift: 19:00–07:00, 3x12-hour shifts.
• Every other weekend coverage; possible holiday RTO.
• Float within health system as needed.
• Provide care across trauma, cardiac, neuro, respiratory and psychiatric emergencies.
• Assist with airway management and ventilated patients.
• Apply splints and orthopedic trauma care.
• Identify and report neglect or abuse.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and Epic proficiency.

Requirements

• Active WA RN license (or proof of license application) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Required EMR experience: Epic
• Experience with emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
• Proficient in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
• Two professional references from the past 2 years required, including at least one supervisor or charge nurse reference
• Candidates with more than one DUI are not eligible for consideration

Responsibilities

• Emergency Department setting treating a combined adult/pediatric patient population
• Level II Trauma Center handling cases including gunshot wounds, trauma, cardiac events, strokes, and behavioral health crises
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:00
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Block scheduling may be available
• Required to float within the health system as operationally necessary
• Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and psychiatric emergencies
• Manage ventilated patients and assist with intubation, BiPAP/CPAP, and chest tube procedures
• Apply splints and provide orthopedic trauma care
• Identify and report signs of neglect or abuse
• Candidates must disclose and receive approval for RTO prior to contract signing, with limited additional RTO allowed afterward
• Some holiday RTO may be approved depending on unit need
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Local candidates within 60 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Previous PeaceHealth employees must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates without an active Washington license in hand should anticipate a possible start date delay of up to 8 weeks while licensure is processed
