Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a freestanding ER setting in Tennessee. The position requires TNCC and CPI certifications in addition to standard ER credentials, with a strong focus on patient care in a fast-paced environment.

The RN will work 3x12-hour shifts from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM in an 11-bed ED, with 1:4 patient ratios and opportunities to support other ERs within the health system. Housing and travel reimbursements are provided.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (TN or Compact) in good standing.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI certifications required.
• TNCC certification required for ER placement.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent ER experience required.
• Basic respiratory care knowledge including breathing treatments, ABGs, and BiPAP.
• Able to work with minimal oversight.
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months.
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration.
• One professional reference required.

Responsibilities

• Work in an 11-bed freestanding Emergency Department.
• Patient ratio of 1:4.
• Staffing includes tenured RNs and critical care paramedics only.
• Documentation completed in Meditech.
• Scheduled for 3x12-hour shifts per week on an 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM shift.
• May be floated to other ERs within the health system as needed.
• Facility is TJC Chest Pain with PCI and Primary Stroke Center certified.
• Tele-psych and tele-neuro consult availability on site.
• 24/7 security presence in the ER.
• Team-driven culture ranking in the top 5% across the health system for patient satisfaction.
• More than half of staff have 5+ years of tenure, and all RNs have 5+ years of experience.
• Navy scrubs required as part of dress code.
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted.
