Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a Level II Trauma Center in Connecticut. The role requires prior travel nursing experience and an active CT or Compact RN license.

Responsibilities include ED care, triage, medication administration, and utilization of Epic EMR. Evening shifts are 4x12 hours, with every-other-weekend work and on-site free parking.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (CT or Compact) required.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC.
• Minimum 2 years ER experience; 1.5 years for Level I trauma or travel experience.
• Previous travel nursing experience required.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management.
• Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and triage protocols.
• One professional reference required.
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations.
• COVID vaccine and booster required except for religious or medical exemption.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department of a short-term acute care hospital with 426 staffed beds.
• Level II Trauma Center setting, patient ratio 1:4.
• Epic EMR experience required for documentation and orders.
• Evening shift schedule, 4x12 hours (11:00-23:30).
• Work every other weekend as part of travel assignment requirements.
• Provide emergency nursing care including triage, medication administration, and emergency response for Level II trauma patients.
• Facility is part of the Yale New Haven Health System; free on-site parking.
• Candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius of the hospital to be considered.
• Former permanent staff must be separated for at least 2 years to return as traveler.
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved.
