The role is in a 400+ bed urban hospital with 30 ED beds, offering 24/7 triage, a fast track, and complex cardiac/ortho/spine/cancer services. 13-week assignment with Navy blue scrubs; benefits include insurance and 401(k).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate discharge planning with the healthcare team for safe transitions.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Dept RN for a Level IV Trauma Center requiring at least 1 year of ED experience and a TX or compact RN license.

• At least 1 year of experience as an Emergency Department RN
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start

Responsibilities

• Work in a 30-bed Emergency Department within a 400+ bed hospital in urban Austin, TX
• Facility specializes in advanced cardiac, ortho/spine, oncology, and maternal fetal care
• Site accreditations include JCAHO Primary Heart Attack Center (STEMI Receiving), DNV Primary Stroke Center Plus, and Level IV Trauma Center
• Also certified in ECMO, LVAD, advanced heart failure, Maternal Fetal Level IV, and Level III NICU
• Operates a 24/7 fast track with dedicated triage and charge RNs around the clock
• Supports a 4:1 patient ratio, adjusted to 2:1 or 1:1 based on patient stability
• ED PCTs trained in phlebotomy, splinting, and other skills staffed 24/7
• Uses Cerner EMR
• Shift schedule is 11:00-23:30
• Department does not float outside of the ED
• 13-week assignment
• Deliver direct patient care as an RN in accordance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and quality improvement guidelines
• Assess patient conditions, document changes, and communicate critical updates to the interdisciplinary team
• Execute physician and nursing orders accurately while maintaining regulatory compliance and patient safety best practices
• Assess discharge planning needs and collaborate with the healthcare team to support safe transitions and continuity of care
• Navy blue scrub color required
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate per facility radius rule, which varies by location
• Candidates with disciplinary actions must complete a FACIS Questionnaire and upload with board documents and verification
