Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a busy, high-acuity Emergency Department requiring prior travel experience and Epic proficiency.

Be a key member of a large ED serving adolescents to geriatrics, with day shift 4x12 hours and every-other-weekend requirements. GA license and 2+ years ER experience are essential for this travel assignment.

Qualifications

  • Active GA or Compact RN license required.
  • Minimum 2 years ER experience required.
  • Prior travel nursing experience with 2–3 ER travel contracts preferred.
  • Epic charting experience required.
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS.

Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including trauma and cardiac events.
  • Work in a large, busy non-trauma ER serving a broad patient population.
  • Collaborate with hospital teams and use Epic and Pyxis systems effectively.
  • Maintain high standards of patient safety and documentation.

Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a busy, high-acuity Emergency Department requiring prior travel experience and Epic proficiency.

Details
  • Large, busy non-trauma Emergency Department serving adolescents to geriatrics
  • Stroke and STEMI certified facility
  • Uses Epic and Pyxis systems
  • Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
  • Rare floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
Requirements
  • Active GA or Compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required, with at least 2-3 completed ER travel contracts preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
  • Preferred certifications: SANE, TNCC
  • Preferred experience in charge role, teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II settings
  • Strong skills across pediatric, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, cardiac, and trauma emergency care
Additional Information
  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including trauma, cardiac events, respiratory distress, and behavioral health crises
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
  • Maximum 7 days RTO per contract, must be finalized at time of submission
  • No schedule or shift change requests permitted after offer or onsite
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • Previous Piedmont employees (perm/per diem/FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
  • Travelers previously unable to return to a Piedmont facility must complete one successful assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
