Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position at a Level 1 trauma acute care facility. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of cath lab experience and an active SD or Compact RN license, with BLS/ACLS on file.

Responsibilities include performing complex cardiac procedures, administering conscious sedation, and using EPIC for charting in a high-volume lab. On-call shifts are required with a 30-minute response time.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in SD or Compact.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification.
• Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience.
• NLN or AACN accredited nursing program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and assist for left and right heart caths, PCIs and EP procedures.
• Administer conscious sedation and circulate in sterile environment.
• Operate and monitor in a busy Level 1 trauma cath lab with 1:1 patient care.
• Document in EPIC and coordinate with other units as needed.
• On-call shifts with 30-minute response time and possible weekend coverage.

Job description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position at a Level 1 trauma acute care facility, requiring at least 2 years of cath lab experience and an active SD or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active RN license (SD or Compact)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience
• Graduation from an NLN or AACN accredited nursing program strongly preferred
• BSN preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Cardiac Cath Lab unit within an acute care, Level 1 trauma facility
• 8 fluoroscopy rooms and 2 procedural rooms with an average of 30 patients per day
• 1:1 nurse to patient ratio
• Uses EPIC for charting
• Additional equipment includes Pyxis, Philips XIM monitoring system, Xcelera, ultrasounds, Angiojets, EKOS machines, and Acist contrast injection system
• Day shift schedule with varying 4x10-hour shifts (0530-1600, 0630-1700, or 0730-1800)
• On call approximately 1-2 times per week plus 1 call weekend every 3-4 weeks, with a 30-minute response time
• May be placed on mandate list to fill unfilled call shifts
• Administer and monitor conscious sedation and circulate in a sterile procedural environment
• Perform procedures including left and right heart catheterizations, PCIs, temporary and permanent pacemakers, ICDs, EP procedures, TEEs, cardioversions, venous ablations, and peripheral vascular angiograms
• Unit-specific orientation is 4-6 shifts depending on experience, focused on charting and physician equipment preferences
• Ceil blue scrubs provided
• All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
• Candidates who previously worked for this health system must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission
• Local candidates within 80 miles may be considered at an adjusted bill rate
