Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring cardiac cath lab experience and Epic proficiency, with floating between Cath Lab and CVU. The role includes a day shift from 7:00am–7:00pm and 36 hours weekly across three 12-hour shifts, with on-call duties and no weekend requirements.

The candidate must have NC or compact RN license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and Epic EMR experience, plus a nursing degree (Diploma/ADN/ASN; BSN/MSN preferred).

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact license.
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum one year of nursing experience required
• Cardiac Cath Lab experience required; Acute Cardiac Care experience also accepted
• Epic EMR experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN required; BSN or MSN preferred

Responsibilities

• Cardiovascular Unit setting within a Cardiac Cath Lab providing diagnostic and interventional cardiology/vascular procedures
• Serves as primary/secondary circulator, administering and monitoring moderate sedation
• Provides pre and post procedural care, recovery, cardioversions, loop recorder management, and radiology procedures
• Day shift schedule from 7:00am to 7:00pm
• 36 hours per week across three 12-hour shifts
• Required to float between Cath Lab and CVU
• On-call responsibilities include late call and vascular call with possible flex down based on case volume
• No weekend or holiday requirements
• Uses Epic EMR
• Delivers competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
• Performs bedside point of care testing as part of the patient care plan
• Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care and safe discharge planning
• Participates in unit performance improvement activities and cost-effective care initiatives
• Fast-paced procedural environment requiring strong prioritization and communication skills
