Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a registered nurse for a Cath Lab assignment in a hospital setting. The role requires ACLS and BLS certifications and prior cardiac catheterization experience.

The day shift runs Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with on-call and weekend rotation. The assignment is 13 weeks with possible temp-to-perm conversion and requires residing within 50 miles for local rate eligibility.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (LA or Compact) required.
• BLS certification via AHA required.
• ACLS certification via AHA required.
• 1 year of nursing experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.
• Critical care setting experience preferred, though new graduates will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiology Cath Lab unit of a hospital setting.
• Patient population includes cardiac caths, peripherals, TAVR, and device procedures.
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1 patient to 4 staff members (2 nurses and 2 techs).
• Day shift schedule, Monday-Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
• Weekend rotation required, every third or fourth weekend.
• On-call requirements as coordinated with other staff.
• Uses EPIC EMR system.
• 13-week assignment length.
• Provide independent nursing care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for cardiac cath lab patients.
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Educate patients and families on care needs and available resources.
• Make appropriate care assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed.
• Hospital scrubs provided.
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation.
• Must attend New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days of hire.
• Temp to perm conversion is a possibility
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate eligibility
• Returning employees who previously worked at any CHRISTUS facility (non-travel) must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a travel assignment
