Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Cardiovascular ICU position in Kentucky. The role requires 2 years CVICU experience and KY or compact RN licensure. You will work a 13-week assignment on the night shift (19:00-7:30) and may float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate facility.

Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS; CCRN is preferred. ECMO and IABP experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Active KY State or Compact RN license required.
• 2 years CVICU experience required.
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required; CCRN preferred.
• ECMO experience preferred.
• IABP and Swan-Ganz monitoring experience preferred.
• No licensure hits will be accepted for consideration.
• At least one professional reference required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care nursing to CVICU patients with hemodynamic monitoring and complex cardiac drips.
• Caring for ventilated patients and managing advanced cardiac therapies.
• Float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed.
• 13-week assignment on the night shift (19:00-07:30).
• Ensure all requested time off is disclosed prior to offer.

Requirements

• Active KY State or Compact RN license required
• 2 years of CVICU experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required; CCRN preferred
• ECMO experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line care/management
• Experience with ventilator management and care of ventilated patients
• Experience managing continuous IV sedation and titrating cardiac drips
• Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) preferred
• Experience with Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response
• At least one professional reference required for consideration

Responsibilities

• CVICU unit within a hospital setting
• 13-week assignment on night shift (3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-7:30)
• Candidates will float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
• Winter holiday coverage required for 3 of 5 holidays
• Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular ICU patients including hemodynamic monitoring and management of complex cardiac drips
• Local candidates within 100 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Former UK-affiliated staff must have a 6-month gap in employment before returning as a traveler
• No licensure hits will be accepted for consideration
• All requested time off must be disclosed prior to offer, as later requests will not be approved
