Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Cardiac Stepdown/Telemetry assignment in California open to travel and local candidates; shift is 3x12s, 19:00–07:30. Requires active CA RN license with ACLS and BLS, and EPIC EMR experience.

Minimum 2 years RN experience with at least 1 year in acute care and 1 year in the specialty within the past 2 years. Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and care for post-MI and post-angiography patients.

Qualifications

Active CA RN license required in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted).
Current ACLS and BLS certifications required in-hand.
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
Minimum one year of experience in an acute care setting required.
At least one year of FT-equivalent experience in the specialty area within the past two years required.
Prior travel nursing experience required.
EPIC EMR experience required and must be reflected in work history.
Two supervisor references required.

Responsibilities

Stepdown Cardiac unit setting focused on telemetry monitoring and cardiac care.
Cardiac monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation and management.
Care for patients with pacemakers, post cardiac angiogram, post MI, pre/post cardiac cath, TR band, and TAVR procedures.
Management of cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration).
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30.
EPIC EMR experience required.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
Perform professional nursing duties incorporating age-appropriate assessment, planning, intervention, and advocacy for patients and families.
Evaluate patient outcomes and discharge readiness, revising care plans or making referrals as needed.
Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates.
Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for a minimum of one year to return as a traveler.
Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract highly preferred, with no RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment.
