Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab Prep/Recovery position in Illinois. Requires active IL RN license, BLS/ACLS, BSN, and at least one year of nursing experience with Epic charting.

The role features a 40-hour week, Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM–7:30 PM, with no weekends or holidays. Travel-ready with housing and licensure reimbursements offered.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license (temporary license accepted)
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
• BSN required
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with moderate sedation monitoring and recovery

Responsibilities

• Cardiac Cath Lab Prep and Recovery unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 40 hours per week over 5 days
• No weekend or holiday shifts required
• Uses Epic charting system
• Performs bedside procedures with hemodynamic monitoring
• Manages arterial and venous sheath insertion, monitoring, and removal
• Conducts point-of-care testing including glucose, ACT/ISTAT, and UHCG
• Provides direct patient care using the nursing process across assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Completes initial patient assessments and develops individualized plans of care
• Prepares patients for procedures including lab work, IV placement, and site preparation
• Assists physicians and PAs with bedside procedures and required supplies
• Maintains accurate documentation of nursing care and reports safety hazards or incidents
• Supports professional development of peers and pursues ongoing learning
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
