Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for an Acute Dialysis role at two Des Moines hospital campuses. Inpatient dialysis experience and Fresenius machine proficiency are essential; EPIC EMR skills are required. The role includes 3x12 shifts, 36 hours per week, with weekend coverage and some on-call duties.

Candidates must have IA licensure or compact license, BLS, a valid driver's license, and be within travel readiness criteria. Navy-blue scrubs and travel benefits provided.

Responsibilities

Provide dialysis care to ICU and general two-hospital campuses.
Operate Fresenius 2008T for hemodialysis and Baxter Homechoice Claria for PD.
Work 3x12s 7a-7p, 36 hrs/week with weekend rotation.
Remote tele monitoring and patient ratio 2:1.
Must have EPIC EMR proficiency and travel between Iowa Methodist MC and Lutheran campuses.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Acute Dialysis position requiring 24 months of inpatient dialysis experience and proficiency with Fresenius machines.

Requirements

Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required at time of consideration
BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
Minimum 24 months of dialysis experience, including inpatient/acute dialysis experience required
Experience with tele reads and measurement required
Experience using Fresenius machines required
Hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis experience preferred
EPIC EMR experience required
Driver's license required for consideration
Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, or executive within the last 24 months preferred

Responsibilities

Work in the Dialysis unit at a hospital, covering both Iowa Methodist MC and Iowa Lutheran campuses
Care for ICU patients requiring dialysis, including AKI and ESRD, with remote tele monitoring
Patient ratio of 2:1
Uses Fresenius 2008T machines for hemodialysis and Baxter Homechoice Claria for peritoneal dialysis
EPIC EMR experience required
Days shift, 3x12s from 7a-7p, 36 hrs/week
Weekend requirement every 3rd weekend
Minimal on-call required, including weekday and weekend rotations
Floating required across both campuses
Provide dialysis care to acute and ICU patients across two hospital campuses
Holiday coverage required, working 1-2 of 3 upcoming holidays unless the unit is closed
Navy blue solid-color scrubs required
First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible to work travel assignments at any UPH facility if employed within the past 12 months, unless their prior role was itself a travel assignment
