American Traveler seeks an experienced Acute Dialysis RN for a 13-week assignment in Des Moines, IA. Must have Fresenius machine experience and Epic EMR proficiency.

Travel-friendly candidate with IA license, BLS, and ample dialysis background is preferred. Responsibilities include providing dialysis care in acute units across Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran Hospital, 36 hours per week on days (3x12s), with weekend rotations and minimal on-call, using Fresenius 2008T and Baxter

Qualifications

• Active IA RN license or compact license required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 24 months of current dialysis experience, inpatient and acute.
• Experience with tele reads and measurement required.
• Fresenius dialysis machines experience required.
• Epic EMR experience required.

Responsibilities

• Dialysis care in acute unit across IA Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran Hospital campuses.
• Days shift, 3x12s, 7a-7p, 36 hrs/week.
• Weekend rotation required every 3rd weekend.
• Minimal on-call with rotating weekday/weekend shifts.
• Patient population includes remote tele and ICU dialysis patients.
• Uses Fresenius 2008T machines and Baxter Homechoice Claria for PD.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Acute Dialysis RN with required Fresenius machine experience and Epic EMR proficiency for a 13-week assignment in Des Moines, IA.

Requirements

• Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Minimum 24 months of current dialysis experience required, including inpatient and acute dialysis experience
• Experience with tele reads and measurement required
• Experience using Fresenius dialysis machines required
• Hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
• No first-time travelers considered

Responsibilities

• Acute dialysis unit setting across Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran Hospital campuses
• Days shift, 3x12s, 7a-7p, 36 hrs/week
• Weekend rotation required every 3rd weekend
• Minimal on-call required with rotating weekday and weekend on-call shifts
• Patient population includes remote tele and ICU dialysis patients including AKI and ESRD
• Patient ratio of 2:1
• Uses Fresenius 2008T machines for hemodialysis and Baxter Homechoice Claria for peritoneal dialysis
• Required to float across both Iowa Methodist MC and Iowa Lutheran campuses
• Uses Epic EMR
• Provide dialysis care to acute and critically ill patients including those with AKI and ESRD
• Navy blue, solid-color scrubs required
• Holiday coverage required for 1-2 of 3 upcoming Winter holidays unless the unit is closed
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible to work travel assignments at other UPH markets within 12 months of separation
