Local candidates may receive a reduced bill rate, with weekend and call coverage as needed. The position offers housing allowance, licensure reimbursement, per diem, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• RRT license and applicable state licensure.
• BLS certification from AHA.
• NRP and PALS certifications.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Experience in neonatal and pediatric intensive care.
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care college program.
• RRT credential from NBRC.
• Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required Nov 1–Apr 1.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients in a hospital setting, including Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center.
• Perform respiratory procedures and assist physicians with interventions.
• Utilize EPIC EMR for documentation and orders.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts (0630-1800) with weekend/call requirements.
• Monitor patient status and communicate with care team.
• Serve as a preceptor or resource as needed.
• Maintain and manage respiratory equipment and supplies.
• Demonstrate teamwork and adaptability to unit needs.

Requirements

• RRT license required if applicable
• BLS certification from AHA required
• NRP and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• Prior Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care experience required
• Graduate of an accredited college program in Respiratory Care
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care
• Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required November 1-April 1, with no declinations accepted

Responsibilities

• Respiratory Therapy department in a hospital setting with a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center
• Variable patient ratios
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts (0630-1800)
• Weekend hours as required by facility
• Call requirements as required by facility
• Float requirements as required by facility
• Perform technical skills relative to respiratory practice and assist physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic interventions
• Assess patient and family needs including physical, psychosocial, and spiritual aspects
• Implement respiratory care interventions and maintain accurate, timely documentation
• Participate in physician rounds and communicate patient status changes to the care team
• Function as a preceptor or resource person as needed
• Maintain and manage respiratory equipment including stocking supplies and O2 tank replacement
• Demonstrate adaptability and a teamwork-oriented approach
• Black scrub color required
• Accepts local candidates with adjusted bill rate
• Candidates within 50 miles of the facility are considered local and subject to a reduced bill rate
• Up to 5 days of requested time off allowed, to be made up during the assignment
