American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a Pediatric/Neonatal RT role, requiring 2+ years PICU or Level IV NICU experience. You will support NICU/PICU patients, perform 20–25 treatments daily, and operate multiple ventilators in a high-acuity unit.

The position uses Epic EMR, offers day shifts with 3x12-hour rotations and weekend coverage, and requires travel within a 50-mile radius with WVU Medicine facilities constraints. Housing support may apply.

Responsibilities

• Care for pediatric and neonatal patients in PICU and NICU.
• Perform 20–25 treatments per day and assist with airway management.
• Operate ventilators (Hamilton, Servo, BiPAP, HFNC) and monitor patients.
• Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and care coordination.
• Work day shifts with 3x12-hour shifts per week; 6 weekend shifts per 4 weeks.

Job description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a Peds/Neo RT position requiring 2+ years PICU or Level IV NICU experience.

Requirements

• RRT preferred
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years experience in PICU and/or Level IV or greater NICU
• License required if applicable
• Peds and Neonatal patient care experience required

Responsibilities

• Acute care setting within a Pediatric/Neonatal Respiratory Therapy department
• Covers NICU and PICU patient populations
• Handles 20-25 treatments per day
• Performs airway management, intrahospital transport, and assists with intubation
• Uses aerogen, Volara, cough assist, IPV, NAVA, Hamilton and Servo ventilators
• Equipment includes Hamilton and Servo vents, Respironics and Hamilton BiPAP, and Fisher Paykel HFNC
• Epic EMR used
• Day shift schedule with 3x 12-hour shifts per week
• Weekend requirement of 6 shifts per 4-week schedule (Fri, Sat, Sun)
• Possible holiday coverage required
• No call or standby call requirement
• No floating required
• Hospitalist/Intensivist available in house
• Staffed with multiple RTs per shift, not a solo coverage role
• Responsible for all aspects of respiratory care for pediatric and neonatal patients
• Department-specific orientation provided, with timeframe based on prior experience
• Scrub color/dress code is stone/light gray
• Assist-only role for intubation, not required to intubate independently
• Radius rule of 50 miles applies; local candidates not accepted
• Returning travelers must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying to any WVU Medicine location
• Travelers may not work within WVU Medicine facilities for longer than one year cumulatively without a 2-year break
