American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience and Trauma I background.

The role involves caring for adult, pediatric and neonatal patients in a high-acuity setting with Cerner/Midas/Care Port charting. Requires BLS/ACLS/RRT and NM license; NRP/PALS preferred. Travel housing and licensure reimbursements offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, RRT, New Mexico state license (license required if applicable)
• NRP and PALS certifications preferred

Responsabilités

• Level I Trauma, teaching, children's hospital setting providing short-term acute care
• Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics-RRT unit
• Average daily census of 6-10 ventilated patients
• Floating to general pediatrics required as needed by the unit
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:00-06:30
• Weekend requirement of up to 3 weekends per 4-week schedule period
• 36 hours per week with facility allowed up to 3 call-offs during the 13-week assignment
• No on-call requirement
• Charting system: Cerner, Midas/Care Port
• Provide respiratory care including vent management, airway management, and pulmonary hygiene to adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients as needed
• Work within a Level I Trauma, teaching, children's hospital environment
• No holiday RTO permitted for December start dates; must work Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day for holiday pay eligibility
• Requests for RTO greater than 7 days require approval
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates not accepted within 100-mile radius of the facility
• Scrub color: Royal Blue
• No parking fee

• RQI certifications not accepted
• Pending license accepted
• Skills required include airway management, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, O2 therapies, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, nebulizer, BiPAP, and CPAP
• Experience with adult critical care and emergency department settings required
• NICU, pediatric critical care, and pediatrics experience preferred
• Experience with medication administration including Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, and other respiratory medications
• Experience with high frequency jet ventilator and oscillating ventilator preferred
• COVID vaccination required with religious and medical exemptions accepted via completion of exemption form
