Job description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position at a Level III Trauma teaching hospital requiring 2+ years of experience and comfort treating both pediatric and adult ICU patients.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of applicable Respiratory Therapy experience
• Active state or Compact RRT license required at submission (license required if applicable)
• No background or license actions within the past 12 months
• Must be comfortable working with both pediatric and adult ICU patients
• Advanced EKG exam required as part of compliance for this specialty
• SSN and DOB required at submission
• Pending license not accepted

Responsibilities

• RRT unit within a short-term acute care, Level III Trauma teaching hospital
• 733 total staffed beds
• Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts, 18:00-06:00
• Weekend requirement every other weekend
• Floating within scope to meet facility needs and between like units required
• No on-call requirement
• Epic EMR used
• Solid black or black and white scrubs required
• Maximum of 4 days RTO permitted, subject to manager discretion
• No holiday RTO accepted; if approved, only one major holiday may be requested
• Must be willing to float within the hospital or affiliated campuses based on staffing needs
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Night shift extension policy allows up to two extensions (maximum of three contracts total), then a six-month wait before reapplying
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the main campus are not eligible
• Pre-start compliance modules required, estimated 4-10 hours to complete
