Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Pediatric Critical Care in CVPICU/Cardiac Stepdown setting.
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30.
• Floating to different units as needed; weekend rotation.
• Use Epic charting system for documentation.
• Provide respiratory care to pediatric patients in a cardiac CC environment.
• Airway management, suctioning, intubation/extubation assistance.
• Administer medications including albuterol, Atrovent, Flovent, NO, racemic epinephrine.
• Ventilator management and troubleshooting high-pressure alarms.
• ABG interpretation, chest physiotherapy, and tracheostomy care.
• First-time travelers considered.

Job description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years PICU or CTPICU experience in a pediatric hospital for a night shift position in a CVPICU/Cardiac Stepdown unit.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of PICU or CTPICU experience in a pediatric hospital required
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required
• RRT certification required
• OH state license required for RRTs; license required if applicable
• Epic charting experience required
• Proficiency in pediatric/neonatal respiratory equipment and procedures including CPAP/BiPAP, oscillating and pressure/volume ventilators, and airway management devices
• Experience with medication delivery systems including aerosol setups, MDIs, and nebulizers
• Skilled in ventilator management, weaning from mechanical ventilation, and troubleshooting high-pressure alarms
• Experience with ABG interpretation, chest physiotherapy, and tracheostomy care
• 2 supervisory references required for consideration, at least one must be manager/supervisor titled

Responsibilities

• Pediatric Critical Care setting within the CVPICU/Cardiac Stepdown unit
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• Scheduled to work every other weekend, subject to change based on RTO and unit needs
• Floating to different units required depending on assignment needs
• Uses Epic charting system
• Provide respiratory care to pediatric patients in a cardiac critical care environment
• Perform airway management, suctioning, intubation/extubation assistance, and pulmonary hygiene procedures
• Administer medications including Albuterol, Atrovent, Flovent, Nitric Oxide, and Racemic epinephrine
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Makeup shifts required within the same pay period for any call out or absence
• Facility will honor all RTO included in signed contract
• Candidates must not have worked in a permanent role at the facility within the last 2 years
• 60-mile radius rule applies; local candidates are not permitted
• First-time travelers will be considered
