Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a NICU/Pediatrics night shift position requiring 2+ years of Level 3 NICU and pediatric experience.

Night shift is 3x12 hours (18:30–07:00) with weekend work, Epic charting, no on-call, and duties across neonatal/pediatric care including transports and iNO therapy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Level 3 NICU and pediatric respiratory care experience.
• NICU work history is required.
• Current certifications: RRT, ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS.
• State license required if applicable.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Experience with Bubble CPAP, oscillating ventilator, and pressure/volume ventilator.
• Experience with neonatal transports (inter-departmental).
• Experience assisting in high risk deliveries and intubation.
• Experience with nitric oxide (iNO) therapy.
• Ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, SIMV, and weaning from ventilation.
• Arterial blood gas draws and interpretation.
• Airway management including intubation assist and extubation.

Responsibilities

• Respiratory therapy in Level 3 NICU and Pediatrics unit.
• Night shift, 3x12 hours from 18:30-07:00, weekends as needed.
• Provide respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric patients in NICU.
• Perform patient transports as part of clinical duties.
• Manage medication delivery systems including aerosols and MDIs.
• Care for ARDS, RSV, CF, and respiratory distress syndrome.
• Chest physiotherapy and pulmonary hygiene procedures.
• Scrub requirement: gray top, black bottoms.
• First-time travelers accepted if qualified.
• Maximum of 10 RTO days per 13-week contract with blackout periods.
• No blocked scheduling requests.
• Complete facility training modules within first week.

• Uses Epic charting system
• Provide respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric patients in a Level 3 NICU setting
• Perform patient transports as part of clinical duties
• Manage medication delivery systems including aerosol setups and metered dose inhalers
• Care for patients with conditions such as ARDS, RSV, cystic fibrosis, and respiratory distress syndrome
• Perform chest physiotherapy and pulmonary hygiene procedures
• Scrub requirement: gray top, black bottoms
• First-time travelers accepted if they meet required experience qualifications
• Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods during select weeks
• No blocked scheduling requests permitted
• Completion of facility-specific training modules required within the first week of assignment
• Local candidates accepted within 75 miles of facility at local bill rate
