Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) for a night shift acute care position requiring 5+ years of experience and multiple life support certifications.

Details

• Acute care setting covering inpatient and ER units
• Patient population includes adults, pediatrics, and newborns down to 32 weeks (no newborn ventilator management)
• Common conditions treated include COPD, asthma, and a small number of trach patients
• Typical caseload of 15-20 treatments per therapist per day
• Uses MEDITECH as the charting system
• Equipment used includes Bipap, Cpap, High Flow, ventilators, and trachs
• 3x12-hour night shifts per week, scheduled 1800-0630
• Weekend requirement of every 4th Sunday
• Required to work Christmas night and New Year's Day night
• One on-call shift assigned per week with a two-hour call-back expectation
• Required to float and work across all units
• Always paired with at least one other therapist on shift

Requirements

Additional Information

• Daily duties include nebulizer treatments, 6-minute walk tests, ABGs, overnight oximetry trends, C-section support, surfactant delivery, and bubble CPAP management
• Department manager available Monday-Friday 7am-3pm and reachable by phone anytime
• Department-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts
• Travelers are required to work holidays and will be included in the holiday rotation with permanent staff
• Scrub color may be any color except blue
• Candidates who worked in a permanent capacity at the facility within the last 6 months will not be considered
