American Traveler is seeking a Travel Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position in Twin Falls, Idaho. The role requires NICU/infant care experience and CRT/RRT certification in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities include ABG draws, ventilator management, and providing respiratory support across ICU, NICU, ER and Med/Surg areas. 36 hours per week, 3x12s, with rotation through weekends and holidays as needed.

Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a night shift acute care position requiring NICU experience and CRT/RRT certification.

Details

• Acute care setting at a Level III trauma facility
• Covers inpatient and ER areas including ICU, stepdown, MedSurg, small Peds unit, and Level III NICU
• Patient population ranges from NICU to geriatrics with no more than 30 treatments per shift depending on season
• Uses Drager vents, Cervo-NICU, Hamilton transport vent, Vapotherm, and Philips V60/V30 equipment
• EPIC EMR used
• 12-hour night shifts, 6pm-6am, self-scheduling with option for block scheduling
• Works every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Low census call per contract
• Floats to ICU, floors, NICU, and ER
• Team lead or charge RT always present on shift; travelers may serve as charge based on experience

Requirements

• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required
• CRT or RRT certification via NBRC required
• STABLE and NRP certification required for NICU/infant care
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required
• NICU experience required
• Must be able to assist with intubation and place an LMA
• Must be able to draw and analyze ABGs and administer breathing treatments, BiPAP, CPAP, and ventilator management
• License required if applicable
• Driver's license copy required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include ABG draws and analysis, breathing treatments, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator care, and assisting with bedside bronchoscopy
• Does not perform EKGs
• Assists with intubation rather than performing independently
• Never the sole RT in-house during a shift
• Must attend department meetings once a month
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Unit-specific orientation is approximately 1 week based on experience
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Permanent employees must be separated for at least one year before applying for a travel assignment
• No local candidates accepted due to 50-mile radius rule
