Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for an acute care ICU travel assignment in Georgia. The role requires 2+ years ICU experience, intubation proficiency, and NBRC RRT credential.

You will work 12-hour day shifts, rotating weekends, in a 300+ bed facility with MEDITECH EMR. Expect competitive pay, housing allowance, travel reimbursements, and comprehensive benefits.

• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• NRP certification required if NICU
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Critical care experience required
• Experience in a 300+ bed facility required
• Minimum 1 prior travel contract required
• Must be comfortable with intubating patients
• Must be able to work adult ICU and manage ventilators
• Must be confident making vent management suggestions and reading ABGs
• Comfortable with high patient workloads

Responsibilities

• Acute care hospital setting within the Respiratory Therapy department
• 12-hour day shift schedule, Friday-Sunday 7a-7p rotation
• 36 guaranteed hours per week over a 17-week assignment
• Weekend scheduling with M-Th or F-Sun team assignments, hours vary by team
• Rotated holiday coverage with perm staff, expect every other holiday
• No on-call requirements
• Patient load averages 13-15 patients per shift with 550 minutes of treatments per shift
• Up to 4 airways per therapist in ICU setting
• Uses Servo U and I model ventilators
• MEDITECH EMR used for charting
• In-house hospitalist or intensivist coverage 24/7
• 24/7 in-house pharmacy support
• Adult, pediatric, and neonatal patient population with NICU under separate nursing management
• No floating required
• Perform full scope of RT duties including nebulizer treatments, airway management, Vapotherm, BiPAP, CPAP, vent management, ABG collection, bedside PFTs, and CPT
• In ICU, responsibilities include arterial lines, blood gases, intubations, and bronchoscopies
• First-line responder for intubations during codes, with hospitalist support
• Common patient conditions include COPD, CHF, pneumonia, respiratory failure, ARDS, and cancers
• Charge RT and Clinical Coordinator roles available
• Floor orientation includes graduated schedule; ICU orientation
• Average team size 10-11 therapists per shift
• Scrub color guidelines in ICU

• Scrub color is ceil blue; ceil blue jacket permitted
• First-time travelers not considered due to travel contract experience requirement
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Not eligible for placement if employed by the facility within the last 12 months
• Time off requests honored only if included in the initial assignment confirmation
