American Traveler is seeking a Travel Respiratory Therapist for a night-shift position at a Level I/II trauma teaching hospital in Charlottesville, VA. The 13-week assignment is 36 hours per week on a 3x12 hour night schedule, with every other weekend and some holidays required.

Candidates must have an RRT and BLS, 4+ years of experience, Epic EMR proficiency, and a VA license or eligible. ACCS and BSN preferred; position offers travel benefits and competitive pay.

• Interpret arterial blood gases and support ARDS/pulmonary care.

Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at a Level I/II trauma teaching hospital, requiring 4+ years of experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Teaching hospital setting with Trauma Level I and Level II patient care
• Adult critical care and emergency department work settings
• Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (19:00-07:00), 36 or 48 hours per week

• Experience drawing and interpreting arterial blood gases
• Two professional references required

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care for adult critical care and emergency department patients
• Manage ventilator settings, troubleshoot alarms, and assist with weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Perform airway management procedures including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning
• Administer medications via nebulizer, MDI, and other delivery systems
• Provide care for patients with ARDS, aspiration, pneumonia, and fresh tracheostomy
• Perform chest physiotherapy and pulmonary hygiene procedures
• Maximum of 40 hours RTO per 13-week contract, with no additional RTO approved after offer acceptance
• Candidates with prior UVA Health employment as permanent staff or travelers must disclose this; a 1-year separation and leadership approval is required for returning staff
• External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days and are not eligible to return after reaching this limit
• No radius rule for this position
