Healthforce is seeking a Registered Nurse – PCU for a 13-week travel assignment in Fort Myers, FL. The role features 12-hour day shifts on a 12x3 schedule, 36 guaranteed hours per week, and a weekly pay range of $2,035–$2,095.

You will float to Neuro PCU and related step-down units. Active Florida RN license, 2 years neuro/PCU experience, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are required; Cardene and Cleviprex experience is preferred; hospital setting with telemetry and EKG interpretation.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Florida or eligible with good standing.
• Minimum 2 years Neuro/PCU/step-down nursing experience.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Proficiency reading and interpreting EKG rhythms; telemetry experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care for neuro-focused patients on PCU/step-down units.
• Monitor neurological status, vital signs, and telemetry; interpret EKG rhythms and respond to changes.
• Administer medications including Cardene and Cleviprex; manage IV therapy and monitor effects.
• Update care plans, document assessments and progress in EHR; participate in rounds with the team.
• Maintain patient safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance; respond to emergencies.
• Float to related units as needed; adhere to nurse-to-patient ratios and ensure continuity of care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care for neuro-focused patients on the PCU/step-down units, following the plan of care and hospital policies.
• Monitor neurological status, vital signs, and telemetry; interpret EKG rhythms and respond to changes promptly.
• Administer medications including Cardene and Cleviprex; manage IV therapy and monitor therapeutic effects and adverse reactions.
• Implement and update care plans; document assessments, interventions, and patient progress in the electronic health record; participate in rounds with the multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain patient safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance; respond to emergencies and coordinate with physicians and ancillary staff.
• Float to related units as needed; adhere to unit-specific nurse-to-patient ratios (typical ranges around 1:4 to 1:5) and ensure smooth continuity of care across floors.

Requirements

• Active RN license in Florida (or eligibility with licensure in good standing)
• Minimum 2 years of Neuro/PCU/step-down nursing experience; neuro unit experience is required
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Proficiency reading and interpreting EKG rhythms; experience with telemetry
• Experience with neuro-directed medications (Cardene and Cleviprex) preferred
• Degree accreditation must be on profile or there must be equivalent to 5 years of neuro RN experience
• Ability to work in a hospital setting with floating responsibilities and variable patient assignments
