Job summary

Healthforce is seeking a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department travel assignment in Waupaca, WI. The 8-bed ED operates in a short-term acute care hospital, with 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) and a guaranteed 36 hours per week over a 13-week contract, starting 11/02/2026.

Requires Wisconsin RN license and active certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS). ADN or certificate required; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin RN license required.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS.
• Experience: Minimum 3+ years RN experience; minimum 2+ years ER experience.
• Education: ADN or Certificate required; BSN strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in ED for adult and pediatric patients including triage, assessment, stabilization, and monitoring.
• Administer medications, perform ED procedures, coordinate interventions under physician direction.
• Monitor patient status and escalate as needed.
• Document assessments and treatments in Epic EMR with accuracy and timeliness.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and high-quality care.

Overview

Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (ER) – Waupaca, WI. Travel assignment starting 11/02/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay ranges from $2,006 to $2,166 with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Shift: 12-hour nights (3x12), from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. This role is in a short-term acute care hospital setting, staffed to handle high-acuity emergencies in a compact ED unit.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to ED patients across adult and pediatric presentations, including triage, initial assessment, stabilization, and ongoing monitoring
• Administer medications, perform procedures within ED scope, and coordinate therapeutic interventions under physician direction
• Monitor patient status, interpret findings, and respond to changes in condition with rapid escalation as needed
• Document assessments, treatments, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (Epic) with accuracy and timeliness
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety, throughput, and high-quality care

Requirements

• Active Wisconsin RN license
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS required
• Experience: Minimum 3+ years RN experience; minimum 2+ years ER experience required
• Education: ADN or Certificate required; BSN strongly preferred, not required
• Epic experience required within the last year
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and meet unit staffing needs
• ED environment tolerance: high-acuity, fast-paced setting; patient ratio typically around 1:4
