Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group according to standards and nursing process.
• Supervise and direct nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines and teams.
• Collect data, analyze health information, develop and implement a care plan, evaluate progress.
• Provide education and health information to patients and families; communicate with the treatment team.
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care and promote a safe, healing environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group according to established standards, the nursing process, and professional judgment
• Supervise and direct the activities of nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines and teams
• Collect relevant data, analyze health information, develop and implement a care plan, and evaluate progress toward outcomes
• Provide education and health information to patients and families; communicate clearly with the treatment team
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care and promote a safe, healing environment; delegate appropriately and supervise the nursing staff as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license in the state of practice (California) required
• BSN: Preferred. Acute care facility experience: Preferred
• Certifications: Current CPR/BLS (from an approved vendor); ACLS; PALS; NIH Stroke Scale certification/competency required
• Experience: At least two years of recent RN experience in the field; ER or acute care experience preferred
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred; ongoing clinical competence and continued learning
