National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking a Contractor in Charge (CIC) in Salem, OR. This safety-focused role oversees construction, maintenance, and regulatory compliance for railroad clients.

The CIC will manage field safety, conduct job briefings, and ensure FRA compliance (49 CFR 214) while coordinating with train crews and management. Travel is a major component of this position, with extensive deployments expected.

Formación

• Requires strong computer, communication, and organizational skills.
• Must communicate effectively in verbal and written formats.
• Ability for long-term travel assignments, including multi-month deployments.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a railroad company (maintenance of way or TY&E).
• Completion of required federal, client, and company-specific training.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee worksite safety and provide flagging services as needed.
• Ensure compliance with FRA regulations (49 CFR 214) during track work.
• Monitor track conditions, approaching trains, and work activities for safety.
• Coordinate train movements with dispatchers, engineers, and supervisors via radio/phone/electronic systems.
• Document all activities including safety briefings, incidents, logs, and forms for management and regulators.
• Enforce Railroad, State, and Federal policies.
