Job summary

Weil Foot & Ankle Institute in Virginia is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the physician and patient care at our Harbour View office. Duties include taking basic vital signs, preparing rooms, verifying patient information, assisting with in-office procedures, and scheduling follow-up appointments.

You will help manage the patient schedule, assist with front desk duties when needed, and contribute to a safe, efficient practice.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification required or preferred; two years in healthcare position preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required; higher education a plus.
• Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment; able to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of basic medical procedures such as wound dressing.
• Strong communication and active listening abilities.
• Strong organizational and clerical skills for maintaining patient files and office duties.
• Customer service skills.
• Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to gather medical history and update medical records.
• Gather basic vital signs: temperature, BP, height, weight, pulse.
• Prepare treatment rooms and patients for exams.
• Sterilize instruments and set up in-office procedure trays.
• Manage medical supplies and coordinate with leadership to order inventory.
• Take X-rays as needed.
• Cross-train to cover front desk activities when required.
• Support physician and team with patient care activities.
