Job summary

PGTEK Academy is seeking an Entry-Level Data Center Deployment Technician to support the deployment and maintenance of enterprise server infrastructure. This role involves hands-on hardware work, travel to data centers nationwide, and learning through mentorship in a fast-growing data center environment.

Ideal candidates bring mechanical aptitude, strong attention to detail, and a team-first attitude, with willingness to travel 60-70% and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Installing and assembling server racks
• Rack and stack server, storage, and networking equipment
• Swapping components (switches, servers, etc.)
• Perform cable management and labeling (connecting power whips)
• Placing, setting and leveling racks
• Assist with hardware installations and upgrades
• Replace server components such as hard drives, memory, power supplies, fans, and network cards
• Perform basic hardware troubleshooting
• Assist with inventory management and asset tracking
• Follow customer installation procedures and quality standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Travel to customer data centers throughout the United States
