Job summary

PGTEK Academy is seeking an Entry-Level Data Center Deployment Technician to support large enterprise and AI data centers across the United States. You will join a hands-on program designed for military veterans and motivated individuals, gaining practical experience in deploying server infrastructure.

No prior data center experience is required; a strong attitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn are valued.

Qualifications

• Military experience encouraged (active duty, Reserve, National Guard, or veteran)
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tools/hardware
• Strong attention to detail
• Positive attitude and team-first mindset
• Excellent communication skills
• Dependability and professionalism
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and be on your feet all day
• Comfortable traveling 60–70% of the time
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel by air

Responsibilities

• Install and assemble server racks
• Rack and stack server, storage, and networking equipment
• Swap components (switches, servers, etc.)
• Perform cable management and labeling (power whips)
• Place, set and level racks
• Assist with hardware installations and upgrades
• Replace server components (drives, memory, PSUs, fans, NICs)
• Perform basic hardware troubleshooting
• Assist with inventory management and asset tracking
• Follow customer installation procedures and quality standards
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment
• Travel to customer data centers nationwide
