SJE is seeking a Control System Specialist II to design, test, and implement complex control projects from Birmingham, AL. The role covers panel design, hardware selection, programming, testing, and field support with frequent travel to customer sites.

You will work across relay and PLC-based panels, perform safety and sizing analyses, and support various departments including project management, sales, and drafting. Strong communication and AutoCAD skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience in control and instrumentation preferred.
• Ability to design, write, and test software and specifications.
• Proficiency with MS Office, email, internet, and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control panels and systems per specs and standards.
• Develop PLC and HMI applications across multiple platforms.
• Lead factory and field testing and participate in project management.
• Coordinate with panel production, vendors, and customers.
