Job summary

SJE Revere, based in Birmingham, AL, seeks a Control System Specialist II to design, test, implement, and support automation projects onsite. You will handle panel design, hardware selection, programming, testing, and site startups with frequent travel to customer sites.

Responsibilities include PLC/HMI development, schematic design, wiring, and documentation, collaborating with Project Management and other teams to meet quality, schedule, and budget goals.

Qualifications

• At least five years of control/instrumentation experience.
• Ability to design electrical equipment and write/test software and specs.
• Basic computer skills: MS Office, email, internet, AutoCAD.
• Experience with electrical schematics.
• Willingness to learn technical skills.
• Self-motivated with ability to design, write and test software and provide hardware services.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with customers, vendors, colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control panels and systems to meet project specs.
• Coordinate with panel production personnel.
• Develop testing procedures for factory and field testing of panels and systems.
• Develop PLC and HMI applications per project specs across multiple platforms.
• Program complex sequences including lead/lag and cascade PID control systems.
• Manage multiple projects per company procedures.
• Coordinate projects to meet quality, schedule, and budget goals.
• Ensure conformance to specifications and customer requirements.
• Provide field troubleshooting and commissioning support.
