Job summary

Actalent in Pittsburgh is seeking a Construction Coordinator to provide safety oversight, ensure compliance with safety procedures, and coordinate with construction supervision, on-site safety personnel, client project managers, and engineering teams on energy infrastructure projects.

The role involves reporting safety compliance issues, pre-construction reviews, and constructability assessments, with duties spanning site inspections, permit verification, and daily log reporting; a 5+ year

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Transmission, Distribution, or Substation Construction.
• Expertise in transmission & distribution and power delivery.
• Ability to travel 100% of the time.
• Strong skills in construction management, safety, and project coordination.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with substation and field construction.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction sites and complete pre-construction checklist tasks.
• Ensure all necessary permits and site/job specific plans are in place, signed, and posted at the job site.
• During construction, inspect work to ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies, and adherence to specifications, drawings, and permits.
• Manage communication with construction crews, client project managers, and engineering teams to resolve queries that may impede construction progress.
• Identify field-purchased material needs and communicate these to the client Construction Manager.
• Order materials and rental equipment, coordinate deliveries, and inventory materials to identify shortages and prevent schedule delays.
• Prepare Daily Log Reports indicating project progression, schedule deficiencies, completed activities, safety incidents, and compliance with specifications.
• Perform miscellaneous duties including maintaining redline construction drawing markups, completing weekly safety audits, communicating scope changes, confirming utility locates, and signing crew timesheets.
• Occasionally climb ladders and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
