Job summary

Big-D Construction in Ogden, Utah, is seeking a Project Engineer to join our team of construction professionals. The ideal candidate will support project managers and superintendents with submittals, RFIs, schedules, procurement, and site documentation.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field and 2–4 years of experience on industrial construction projects, with a willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience on industrial/construction projects.
• A drive to build great projects.
• Willingness to travel preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review submittals.
• Write and track RFIs and process or assist in change orders.
• Prepare and maintain meeting agendas and minutes.
• Maintain construction drawings and provide marketing assistance as required.
• Assist Project Manager and Superintendent with subcontract and schedule administration.
• Keep construction drawings and as-builts up to date.
• Prepare and manage procurement tracking logs aligned with the project schedule.
• Keep submittals, RFIs, and responses current; track changes and progress.
• Maintain project folders (electronic and hard copy) as requested.
• Provide up-to-date drawings and specs to subcontractors.
• QA/QC: verify materials meet approved submittals.
• Document project activities in writing and with photos.
• Participate in the job closeout process.
• Monitor safety and OSHA standards to maintain a safe site.
• Assist in monitoring job cost reports and budget impacts.
• Understand schedule logic and help meet the CPM schedule.
• Assist in creating, managing, and modifying subcontract agreements and purchase orders.
• Coordinate with PM to track master subcontract agreements and ensure signed copies are returned.
