Job summary

North Georgia Civil Inc./NGC General Contractors is seeking a Commercial Construction Assistant Project Manager in Danielsville, GA. You will support Project Managers across commercial, federal, and occupied-facility projects from pre-construction to closeout, coordinating documentation, procurement, schedules, and field communication.

The role requires organization, proactivity, and a readiness to grow into a full Project Manager.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in commercial construction or related roles.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and contract documents.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, logs, and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers with project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and daily documentation.
• Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, permits, licenses, and owner requirements before construction begins.
• Set up and maintain organized project files, logs, workflows, submittals, RFIs, meeting minutes, punch lists, and closeout tracking in Autodesk Construction Cloud, Smartsheet, and Google Workspace.
• Assist with subcontractor and vendor coordination, including scope confirmation and purchase orders.
• Track long-lead materials, procurement dates, deliveries, and outstanding decisions affecting schedule.
• Review superintendent daily reports, maintain look-ahead information, and flag conflicts early.
• Support project financial management in cost management, including commitments, invoicing, and budget updates.
• Assist with pricing and processing potential change orders and change requests.
• Prepare monthly client pay applications and maintain billing backup.
• Help manage federal contract requirements, including certified payroll and Davis-Bacon documentation.
